Why power rationing?

Why power rationing?

Speaking of the last power rationing, many people’s memories are still more than ten years ago. The first ten years of the 21st century were the fastest time for my country’s economic development. The rapid economic growth and unmatched power supply caused frequent restrictions. Power, power outages; but in recent years, power outages and power cuts seem to have gone away from us. I haven't heard this topic for a long time until this year. In this regard, many people are puzzled. In recent years, my country has achieved rapid development in hydropower, coal power, and wind power. Why is there still frequent power rationing today?

A01.3

1. Power consumption increased

Affected by the new crown epidemic, in addition to China, major production countries around the world have experienced factory shutdowns and social shutdowns, such as India and Vietnam, so a large number of overseas orders have flooded into China. According to national customs data, in 2021 In half a year, the total value of my country's imports and exports of goods trade reached 18.07 trillion yuan, an increase of 27.1% over the same period last year, of which exports were 9.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 28.1% year-on-year.

2. Energy consumption dual control

I believe that in the past two years, many people have heard the names Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutral to a greater or lesser extent. "Carbon peaking" means that the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions reaches the highest value in history in a certain period, and will gradually decrease after reaching the highest value. When, within a certain period of time, afforestation, energy conservation and emission reduction are used to offset man-made carbon dioxide, that is, to achieve relatively "zero emissions", "carbon neutrality" is achieved. In order to create a good livable environment and reduce the greenhouse effect, the state officially proposed to achieve carbon peaks by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. This is the "30, 60" goal.

In fact, in addition to insufficient power generation and dual control of energy consumption, I think there is another economic consideration after the epidemic. At present, foreign epidemics are flooding. Therefore, domestic orders continue and production capacity has been expanding. However, the epidemic finally When there is relief or end, when foreign production resumes, China, which has expanded production during the epidemic, will face a situation of overcapacity. By then, corporate bankruptcy will be unavoidable. Some companies and individuals are blind and only care about their immediate interests. Therefore, the country can only guide the economy in the right direction by restricting electricity.
