In recent years, rail transit construction has played an important role in promoting investment, adjusting structure and stabilizing growth, and has become an important tool for national macro-control. As of the end of 2021, a total of 5,343 urban rail transit stations have been put into operation across the country (each station on the line network is counted only once, and transfer stations are not counted repeatedly), a year-on-year increase of 14.1%, of which 570 transfer stations, a year-on-year increase of 20.8% . There are 37 cities with transfer stations, accounting for 74% of the cities that have opened urban rail transit.
