What does IP ratings mean?
The IPX standard gives you a clearer picture of how water resistant the item is, compared to vague marketing terms such as 'waterproof'.
IP code represents by the grade the degree of waterproof and dust-proof. IP code is defined as the degree of protection provided by enclosures of electrical equipment in JIS C 0920 (IEC60529).
Two numbers after the IP represents the degree of protection. The first characteristic number represents degree of protection against solid foreign objects. The second characteristic numeral represents the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of water. This degree of protection is validated by the standardized test.
Also there has an additional letter, used when the degree of protection of persons against access to hazardous parts is higher than the degree of protection against ingress of solid foreign objects.
When used in harsh environments, we provide products that guarantee the IP65 or more.
